Romanian Fantasy for clarinet and guitar (2020)
Romanian Fantasy (2020) was commissioned by and dedicated to Clarinet Meets Guitar, the clarinet and guitar duo of Jeff Brooks and Silviu Ciulei. It was inspired by the richness of the Romanian folk music tradition, especially the timbres of traditional Romanian wind instruments (like the trișcă, tilincă, and caval), its colorful scales, and the asymmetrical meters commonly found in many Romanian dances.
