Works for Guitar Ensemble by Fernand Vera

$40.00

“In my 20-plus years of working with guitar ensembles, I have always been attracted by the timbral colors of the guitar, which create inspiring musical gestures in performance. I love to experiment in my groups with sounds and textural colors, which is where many of my compositions begin. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with violin, cello, flute, accordion, drums, ukulele, bass, and guitarrón in my guitar ensemble, each opening new expressive and musical possibilities. Double bass, or any bass in general, adds depth to the group and helps unify the sound of the ensemble. In addition, I like to use an octave guitar or mandolin on melodic or chordal parts, which creates a lovely “silvery” texture. In general, I encourage all guitar ensemble directors to be creative and explore the sound palette of the guitar in combination with other instruments and use these compositions as a template to begin your creative journey. I hope you enjoy my music!” Fernand Vera

Contains 8 compositions for guitar ensemble: Cancion de Cuna, Cuando, Cubano, Mi Joropo, Sambitas, Simpático, Sunday, Ven, Ven. Score and parts, 96 pages total.
